We’re Matt and Rebekah Copeland—real estate investors, operators, and the founders behind Bright Door Capital and Bright Door Hosting. We started investing in 2019 after years of helping other companies grow and realizing it was time to use our experience to build something of our own.
Since then, we’ve:
Rehabbed dozens of properties—some sold, many kept in our portfolio
Built a strong track record in furnished rentals (MTRs)
Managed the acquisition, renovation, and stabilization of single-family and small multifamily rentals
Expanded into opportunities to convert larger multifamily properties into MTR-driven assets
Grown Bright Door Hosting to 25 managed properties valued at over $6M (as of Dec 2025)

OUR STORY
We both grew up in hardworking, middle-class families and were the first in our households to earn advanced degrees. That background shaped our drive, our work ethic, and our shared belief that anyone can build wealth with the right support.
The Copeland Family
Matt’s Background
Matt spent over 20 years helping grow a small company from $22M to over $100M in annual revenue, serving on its leadership team and learning every corner of the business. Scaling operations, understanding financials, building teams, and driving organizational growth became second nature—and eventually formed the foundation for scaling our real estate businesses.
Rebekah’s Background
Rebekah built her career in hospitality after earning her MBA, helping open and run major convention centers, including the St. Charles Convention Center and later the convention center in Corpus Christi, TX. She later moved into high-volume hotel sales, managing remote sales across more than a dozen properties.
This hospitality expertise became the perfect springboard for creating exceptional furnished rental (MTR) experiences and leading our property management division.
How we got here
We began investing in 2019, and by 2020 Matt was acquiring properties aggressively—purchasing eight in the first year. Rebekah became a licensed agent to support our acquisitions and create clear separation between the retail and investment sides of the business.
From 2021 forward, we rehabbed, flipped, and built our rental portfolio—essentially keeping a rental for every property we sold. Along the way, friends began asking us to manage their rentals, which sparked the early beginnings of Bright Door Hosting. By 2024, Rebekah earned her broker’s license, and by 2025, our ability to raise capital began accelerating as investors gravitated toward our trustworthy, hands-on approach.
Today, Bright Door Capital exists to help other investors benefit from the operational expertise we’ve spent years refining.
